NYC Omakase🫶 4.8⭐️ Experience Creative Sushi 🍣

Another round of Shinpi Omakase, and it never disappoints! This is one of my favorite Omakase spots, where each piece of sushi surprises me with new flavors and unique pairings. Recently, they’ve updated their menu, and I’m still loving it!

💰 Pricing:

• $139 for 15 pieces

• $169 for 18 pieces

Why I Love It:

• Fresh Ingredients: The oysters have no fishy taste, and the Hokkaido uni is rich and creamy.

• Seasonal Delights: Tried a new type of shellfish (bird shell) that I’ve never had before!

• Creative Touches: A yuzu foam adds a zing to the sweet shrimp, while the spicy aftertaste leaves you wanting more.

• Generous Portions: You get large pieces of fresh fish with every bite!

• Special Tea: Their in-house brewed tea is subtly sweet and refreshing.

The atmosphere is cozy and the sushi chefs are super friendly—don’t be surprised if they toast with you! Plus, there’s a discount for 2 or 3 people dining together, so it’s a great time to try this amazing Omakase experience!

... Read moreWhen I first discovered Shinpi Omakase, I was actively searching for a truly unique sushi experience in NYC, and it has consistently exceeded my expectations. What truly sets this spot apart isn't just the incredibly fresh ingredients, but the thoughtful creativity and artistry behind each piece, making it a standout in the high-end sushi omakase scene. For instance, while many places offer uni, Shinpi’s Hokkaido uni is unparalleled – incredibly rich and creamy, often paired with subtle enhancements like a hint of caviar or delicate roe, transforming each bite into a luxurious exploration. The chefs here are true masters, not only in their fish preparation but also in the stunning visual appeal. The 'sushi omakase plating' is minimalist yet impactful, allowing the quality and natural beauty of the ingredients to shine through. I’ve been mesmerized by perfectly seared scallops adorned with delicate gold flakes, and elegant pieces of tuna, sometimes topped with a glistening black caviar. Beyond the raw fish, their inventive small plates are equally impressive. I always look forward to their chawanmushi, a savory steamed egg custard, delicately topped with earthy mushrooms and bursting with umami flavor – a wonderful interlude. And the oysters? Absolutely pristine, with no hint of fishiness, often elevated with a bright citrus zest or a special house-made sauce. Even the sweet shrimp is taken to another level with a light, airy yuzu foam, providing a bright, citrusy counterpoint that truly elevates the dish, as seen in some of their creative presentations. Regarding the 'shinpi omakase price' options ($139 for 15 pieces, $169 for 18 pieces), I personally find the 18-piece option to be an excellent value for money, especially in New York City. It offers a more comprehensive journey through their seasonal offerings and allows you to experience a wider range of the chef's innovative creations. For anyone curious about the 'shinpi omakase menu,' it changes seasonally, which is part of the charm – there’s always something new and exciting to discover, keeping each visit fresh and compelling. A personal tip for first-timers: don't hesitate to engage with the sushi chefs! They’re incredibly friendly and passionate, often sharing fascinating insights into the fish origins or their unique techniques. I've even had them toast with me, which adds such a personal and memorable touch to the 'omakage' experience. It feels less like a formal meal and more like an intimate culinary adventure shared with friends. The cozy atmosphere makes it perfect for a romantic date night or a special celebration. Plus, they occasionally offer discounts for groups of two or three, making it an even more appealing choice if you're dining with loved ones. It’s truly an omakase spot where every visit feels like a delightful discovery, and I consistently leave feeling incredibly satisfied and already anticipating my next return.
