New York: The Best Scallion Braised Beef Tongue! 😭

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve been to Antoya, but today was another round of greatness! This is my 5th time here, and my friend is definitely on her nth visit 😂. We decided to order some of our favorites plus try a few new things.

This place offers a lot of complimentary sides, which are always interesting and unique. We’ve tried the beef platter before, so this time, we couldn’t miss our beloved Scallion Braised Beef Tongue and decided to add lamb chops and sea urchin shrimp rice (my friend’s favorite) to the mix.

• Scallion Braised Beef Tongue ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

No matter how many times I eat this, it’s still absolutely delicious. The scallion flavor really balances out the beef tongue’s richness, and it’s tender with just enough chewiness. The price is a bit on the high side, but honestly, you won’t find this quality elsewhere. Make sure to squeeze some lemon juice on it, it’ll make the flavor even fresher!

• Sea Urchin Shrimp Rice ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We order this every time. A single bowl is so generous that my friend and I share it. The fish roe bursts with juice and doesn’t have any fishy taste—super fresh and yummy!

• Seafood Scallion Pancake ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Both my friend and I fell in love with this! It’s thick, chewy, and full of big shrimp—the perfect texture!

The lamb chops and fish roe steamed egg were decent too, though we prefer the steamed egg with truffle. The lamb chops could’ve been a little more tender, but we made sure to ask the server to watch the grilling closely so it wouldn’t get too tough.

• After stuffing ourselves, we packed a bunch of lamb chops, scallion pancake, and egg to go. The meal came to about $50–$70 per person, which is a fair price considering the high quality.

Definitely still a Michelin guide restaurant, but I was bummed the seasonal crab and shrimp sauce was unavailable this time. Hope it returns soon!
