Michelin Guide Tibetan Cuisine in NYC!! Only $20pp

📍 Phayul

Address: 37-65 74th Street, Queens, NY 11372

Today, my boyfriend took me and my friend to try a hidden gem in our neighborhood. This unassuming little spot turned out to be a Michelin Guide restaurant serving authentic Tibetan cuisine—and it’s incredibly affordable!

The menu shocked us with its prices! Most meat dishes were only around $13.99. We ended up ordering nearly 10 dishes, eager to try everything.

Here’s what we tried:

• Tibetan chili and bean paste seasonings were used in almost every dish. The spicy sauce they use is super fragrant and delicious!

• The beef radish soup was comforting and flavorful.

• Chicken, lamb chops, and potatoes were all tasty, but the beef tongue was the absolute winner—definitely the best dish!

• The Momo and dumplings had a thicker, chewier skin, and the beef filling was juicy and flavorful.

• The Lhasa fried rice was also great, filled with beef tongue, chicken, and more.

• The cold noodles weren’t as good as others I’ve tried, but everything else was fantastic!

We also ordered butter tea, but it was accidentally forgotten. Service was a bit average, but the food made up for it!

For anyone looking to try authentic Tibetan flavors in NYC, this place is definitely worth a visit at an amazing price!
