My Favorite NYC Restaurants So Far 🇺🇸🗽🍴
It’s been 3 months in New York — meeting new friends and unlocking all kinds of amazing eats around Manhattan! 🥰 I feel so lucky and full (literally) 😍💕
Here are some of my absolute favs — all super delicious and 100% worth it! ✅💯
⸻
1️⃣ Casa Mono 🇪🇸
Spanish tapas bar with a lively (slightly loud 😅) vibe — but the food is incredible! Every dish is well-seasoned and flavorful. My faves? The scallops and foie gras 🤍🍽️
2️⃣ Konban NYC 🇯🇵
Impossible-to-book gem in the West Village! Every dish we ordered was delicious — super fresh sashimi, sweet uni rice, and the mazemen (spicy sesame dry noodles) blew me away! 🌶️🍜
Don’t skip the corn ice cream — sweet corn + white chocolate is a perfect combo 🌽🍦✨
4️⃣ Clinton St. Baking Company 🇺🇸
Classic American brunch! Everything we had was on point — fluffy pancakes, hearty portions, warm vibes. I definitely want to go back soon! 🥞☕️💛
5️⃣ Kimura 🇯🇵
Cozy Japanese hotpot in East Village! Loved the sukiyaki and beef intestine nabe 🫕 Also had grilled skewers and sushi — super satisfying, and only ~$35/person! 💰😋
7️⃣ Piccola Cucina 🇮🇹
Classic Italian spot in NYC! The mains were solid, but the tiramisu stole the show — honestly, the best I’ve ever had, even better than what I had in Italy 😂🇮🇹🍰
8️⃣ Osamil 🇰🇷
Trendy Korean izakaya in K-Town. Everything we had was amazing — cured shrimp, kimchi fried rice, pork shank, pancake, cocktails — all so well-executed and delicious 💥🍶🫶
⸻
Tbh I’ve also tried a bunch of famous places in Manhattan —
53 / Gabriel Kreuther / Gallaghers Steakhouse / Soothr / Chalong NYC / Er Hotpot / Chongqing Laozao / Sarabeth’s / Ubani / Ruby’s / Dudley’s etc…
Some were good, but not as mind-blowing as expected 🤭 Still had a great time tho — and definitely more to come!
💬 Drop your NYC food recs for me too — I’m always looking for new spots! 😍🫶🏻🍽️

Hey fellow food adventurers! It seems like many of you are curious about the delicious details of Konban NYC and Casa Mono, especially what to expect from their menus. As someone who’s had the pleasure of dining at these gems, I'm excited to share a deeper dive into why they’ve become my absolute favorites and what dishes truly define their culinary magic. Let's start with Konban NYC. If you're looking at their 'menu,' prepare for an experience rather than just a list of dishes! Getting a table here is famously challenging, but my top tip for securing a spot is to be ready right when reservations drop online, or persistently check for cancellations. It's a small, intimate setting, perfect for a special occasion. Beyond the incredible uni rice and the addictive spicy mazemen I mentioned, their sashimi and nigiri selections are always a revelation – the fish is unbelievably fresh. I’ve also been impressed by their expertly 'seared fish' specials and delicate 'whole fish dish' preparations that showcase seasonal ingredients beautifully. And yes, that unique 'corn dish' (often a delightful corn ice cream) is a must-try dessert that perfectly balances sweet and savory. While the price point is on the higher side, the quality, innovation, and unforgettable flavors make it a worthwhile splurge for any Japanese food enthusiast. Next up, Casa Mono in New York. This Spanish tapas bar has a vibrant, energetic atmosphere that immediately makes you feel like you've stepped into a buzzing eatery in Madrid. When exploring their 'menu,' you'll find a fantastic array of tapas and larger plates designed for sharing, encouraging you to try a little bit of everything. Of course, their scallops and foie gras are legendary, but let me tell you about a few other standouts from my visits. The 'caviar toast' is a luxurious, savory bite that’s perfect for starting your meal, and their 'razor clams' are incredibly tender and flavorful, showcasing the sea's bounty. Don't skip the simple yet perfectly executed 'olives' or a refreshing 'salad' to complement the richer dishes. I also highly recommend their various charcuterie and cheese selections if you're a fan of Spanish cured meats. The beauty of Casa Mono’s menu lies in its ability to take classic Spanish ingredients and elevate them with masterful execution. Expect to order several plates to share, creating a diverse and satisfying meal. It’s excellent for groups or a lively date night, offering bold flavors and a memorable dining experience that keeps me coming back for more. Both Konban NYC and Casa Mono truly stand out in Manhattan's competitive dining scene by offering unique culinary journeys that go beyond just good food – they offer an experience. When you're browsing their menus, look for those seasonal specials and don't be afraid to ask your server for recommendations; they often know the hidden gems that aren't immediately obvious. Happy dining, and I hope these insights help you navigate their incredible offerings!
