Dorm tour 🌷
Hey everyone! So many of you asked about my dorm, and honestly, I love my dorm here at Bowie State University! It truly feels like my little sanctuary away from home. Moving into college, especially an HBCU, can be a mix of excitement and a bit of nervousness about your new living space. But trust me, with a few personal touches, your Bowie State dorm room can become your favorite spot on campus. When I first saw my room, it felt a little bare, but that's where the fun began! My biggest tip for making your Bowie State dorm a cozy haven is to *personalize, personalize, personalize*. Think about what brings you joy. For me, it was adding soft lighting with LED strips around my bed, bringing in a few plants (fake ones are zero maintenance!), and covering my desk with photos of friends and family. Don't underestimate the power of a comfy rug and some throw pillows to instantly warm up the space. Command hooks are your best friend for hanging everything from posters to fairy lights without damaging the walls. Living in a dorm also means mastering organization, especially with limited space. Under-bed storage bins are a lifesaver for clothes, snacks, and extra toiletries. I also invested in a small rolling cart for my desk supplies and beauty products, which keeps everything tidy and within reach. Sharing a room can be an adjustment, but clear communication with your roommate about shared spaces and quiet hours makes a huge difference. Respecting each other's boundaries is key to a harmonious living situation. Beyond just decorating, remember that your dorm is also a hub for campus life. Many of my best memories at Bowie State have been late-night study sessions in the common room or movie nights with floor-mates. Embrace the community aspect! Getting involved in campus activities or just hanging out in the lounge can help you connect with other students and make your dorm experience even richer. It's not just a room; it's part of your college journey. Overall, my Bowie State University dorm experience has been amazing. It's more than just a place to sleep; it's where I study, relax, and make lifelong friends. If you're heading to Bowie State, get ready to make your dorm room your own, and enjoy every moment of your HBCU journey!
