Other Colorado Ice Castles & General Info: While Cripple Creek is amazing, the Ice Castles pop up in other locations too. For example, there's often an Ice Castles Silverthorne location in Colorado, so if Cripple Creek doesn't work for your travel plans, check other sites. Generally, Ice Castles are a winter attraction, typically opening from late December or early January and running through March, depending on weather conditions. Making it a Road Trip? If you're making a road trip out of it, especially from further south, you might even pass through the historic Raton Tunnel – it's quite a landmark on the journey to this part of Colorado!
