Litha Celebration-2024
Throwback to our 2024 Litha Celebration! We had a fun picnic in the backyard and played Unstabble Unicorns!
It was a blast!🦄✨️💜
Picking up where my last post left off about our amazing Litha 2024 celebration, I wanted to share a bit more about why these moments are so special to me and give some ideas for others looking to embrace the longest day of the year! Litha, or the Summer Solstice, is truly a magical time. It's when the sun is at its peak, showering us with warmth, light, and abundant energy. For me, it’s a beautiful reminder to pause and appreciate the vibrancy of life around us, just like the OCR message encouraged: 'Enjoy life when you can. Make the most of it.' Our backyard picnic was just one way we chose to honor this powerful day. We set up blankets under the shade, brought out a spread of fresh seasonal fruits, homemade lemonade, and some delicious snacks. It wasn't fancy, but it was filled with laughter and love. The highlight, as always, was our game of Unstable Unicorns! It's such a fun, lighthearted game that always gets everyone giggling and even a little competitive – perfect for boosting those summer celebration vibes. If you're wondering how to make your own Litha celebration special, there are so many wonderful traditions you can incorporate. Beyond a simple picnic, you might consider having a small bonfire (safely, of course!) to symbolize the sun's strength, or simply lighting candles to honor the light. A nature walk to gather wildflowers or herbs can be a lovely way to connect with the season's bounty. We often try to include something creative, like making flower crowns or crafting sun-themed decorations. Food plays a big part in our celebrations too. Think about incorporating honey, fresh berries, corn, or even baking a sun wheel bread. It’s all about embracing the harvest and natural abundance. As for activities, don’t underestimate the power of a good board game or even just sharing stories and memories around a fire pit (or even just some fairy lights if a fire isn't an option!). It's about togetherness and soaking in the long daylight hours. What I really love about Litha is the emphasis on gratitude and joy. It’s a time to reflect on what has bloomed in your life since spring and set intentions for the growth you want to see in the coming months. It’s a moment to truly 'enjoy life when you can. Make the most of it.' For me, that means creating these simple, cherished memories with loved ones. It’s not about grand gestures, but about finding magic in the everyday and making time for what truly nourishes your spirit. So, whether you're planning a quiet evening reflecting on the sun's power or a lively gathering with family and friends, I hope you find a way to celebrate Litha 2024 that resonates with you. Embrace the longest day, the warmth, and the abundant energy it brings. It's a beautiful opportunity to create lasting memories and truly make the most of this vibrant season.
