Makeup for Pride Month
I’ve done so many different Pride looks over the years. It’s mostly just rainbow for the Pride flag, but there are so many other flags to represent LGBTQ+

Over the years, I've loved experimenting with different makeup looks that celebrate Pride Month. While the rainbow Pride flag is iconic and widely recognized, there’s a rich spectrum of other LGBTQ+ flags that hold special meaning for many people. Each flag represents different identities within the community, such as bisexual, transgender, pansexual, asexual, and more. Incorporating these flags into makeup can be a powerful way to express personal identity and solidarity. When creating Pride makeup looks, I generally like to start with vibrant colors that reflect the flag’s stripes. For example, the transgender flag has soft blue, pink, and white, which translate well into pastel eyeshadows and soft blending techniques. The bisexual flag’s magenta, purple, and blue can inspire bold eyes with dramatic eyeliner or lipstick choices. It’s fun to play with colorful highlighters, glitters, and even face gems to make the look extra festive. An important tip I’ve learned is to match the makeup style to your own personal vibe—whether that’s subtle, dramatic, or somewhere in between. Sometimes just adding a tiny flag detail on your cheek or nails can be a meaningful nod to Pride without going full rainbow. Other times, I love going all out with rainbow eyes, lips, and even temporary tattoos. Makeup can also be a conversation starter and a form of visibility. Wearing a recognizable Pride flag makeup look at community events or pride parades allows you to connect with others who share similar identities or show support for the LGBTQ+ community. In recent years, brands have released Pride-themed makeup collections, making it easier than ever to find high-quality products in all the colors you need. But don’t be afraid to DIY your look by mixing and matching shades you already have. The goal is to celebrate diversity, inclusivity, and self-expression. Personally, I cherish the creative journey of designing a new Pride look every year. It’s a way to honor tradition while also embracing the evolving, vibrant nature of LGBTQ+ identities. No matter your skill level, Pride Month makeup is a joyful way to spread love and pride through color and art.
