**A Personal Reflection on TikTok and What’s Next**
You know, looking back, I often find myself thinking about how different things could have been if I’d just listened to my gut when TikTok first came around. I remember my husband telling me to steer clear of it in the beginning. At the time, I trusted his advice, and I’m not saying he was wrong, but I can’t help but wonder how things might have played out if I had taken that leap earlier.
If I had joined TikTok from the start, I could’ve built something meaningful much sooner—not just for myself, but for everyone around me, too. Maybe I would’ve been able to help more people, inspire more creators, and really find my voice in ways that could’ve made a difference. TikTok offered a platform where anyone could share their story, build a following, and truly connect with others in such a raw, beautiful way. And I truly believe I could’ve done that sooner if I hadn’t hesitated.
Now, with the talk of a potential ban and the security concerns around the app, I can’t help but feel frustrated. I see so many amazing creators sharing their concerns, and I get it—there are definitely risks, especially when you’re talking about how platforms are monetized and what kinds of interests might be behind the scenes. I do believe that even if TikTok as a company is operating out of Singapore and the owners have good intentions, there are always risks with platforms that reach millions worldwide. But here's the thing—TikTok was *my* space to create, to share, and to build something real.
Regardless of what happens with TikTok, though, my goal remains the same. Money isn't everything, but it does play a role in creating the kind of atmosphere where I can help others, build opportunities, and create a more comfortable life for those around me. That’s why I want to encourage all of you to keep in touch, whether TikTok ends up being a part of the future or not. I hope you’ll find me on Lemonade, Flip, YouTube, or wherever you’re headed. Just look for me under the same username!
I’ve always said that even if I make just $.39 per view or per ad click, it still matters. Every little bit adds up. It helps me build the platform that can, in turn, help others—whether that’s by giving advice, spreading positivity, or just creating a space for like-minded people to come together.
But what I don’t ever want is to have to go back to those days of early internet where monetization was all about clicking ads just to make a few cents. I don’t want to lose sight of why we create in the first place: to connect, to share, and to do something meaningful. The goal is always the same—to create a life that’s fulfilling, that helps those around me, and that allows me to do what I love.
So, even if things change and platforms evolve, know that I’ll be here. I hope you'll join me on whatever comes next. Let’s keep building this community, wherever we go.
