Aging can be beautiful...

... Read moreAging is often viewed through a lens of loss or decline, but I’ve come to see it as a journey much like the transformation of sea glass. When I first encountered the idea of aging like sea glass, it resonated deeply with me—how something once fragile and broken can become smooth, radiant, and precious through time and gentle forces. In my own experience, aging has softened my sharp edges and taught me to ride life’s waves rather than resist them. Like sea glass shaped and polished by the ocean’s tide, we too gain character and beauty from the challenges we face and overcome. It’s comforting to think that our scars and changes are not marks of damage but inscriptions of growth and resilience. I’ve noticed that embracing aging with this mindset enriches moments of reflection and connection. The appreciation others have for well-earned patina reminds me that our stories and experiences are treasured. Accepting the flow allows me to find peace and joy in the evolving self without pressure to remain unchanged. This perspective has also encouraged me to be gentler with myself and others—recognizing that time doesn’t just take away but also adds a unique kind of grace. I'm inspired to continue enjoying the journey, knowing that like sea glass, something once fragile can become strikingly beautiful through the tides of life.
