Beyond just pets, they are cherished members of our family, each with their own unique personality that fills our home with precious moments. I love to spoil and dote on my fur babies, and they return that affection tenfold.
Let me introduce you to my youngest, Sammie, a playful 7-month-old black fluffy Cockapoo. He’s a bundle of energy and sweetness, embodying the perfect blend of intelligence from his Poodle lineage and the affectionate nature of a Cocker Spaniel. He truly is a 'healing Christmas gift,' bringing so much comfort and laughter into our lives. Sammie absolutely lives up to the Cockapoo reputation of being incredibly cuddly; he loves snuggling closely against my leg on the textured couch and enjoys his lap naps, often resting his sleepy face right there. You'll often find him on the green grass with his leash nearby, ready for an adventure, or curled up on the gray carpet. He even has a special bone-shaped tag on his collar, identifying him as 'Sammie Vader,' a little nod to his playful spirit. His habit of staying close to my belongings, whether it’s on the wooden floor next to my slides or just following me from room to room, is just one of the many ways he shows his affection.
Then there’s Henry, our handsome 5-year-old light brown Pomeranian. He’s the middle child, a lively and intelligent little guy who's also Sammie's 'big brother.' Pomeranians are known for their confident and curious nature, and Henry is no exception. He might be small, but he has a huge personality and a surprisingly sturdy demeanor. He loves to observe his surroundings, often sitting attentively on the wooden floor, perhaps even sporting a charming black bow tie, just looking up and soaking everything in. His playful barks and unwavering loyalty are a constant source of amusement and companionship.
And though he's no longer with us, our spirit baby, Karma, is always in our hearts. He would have been 10 this year, a light brown and white dog with floppy ears, who truly was 'Sammie's spirit friend.' Karma taught us so much about love and resilience, leaving behind countless precious memories that continue to inspire and comfort us. His presence is still felt, a gentle reminder of the profound bonds we forge with our pets. He often sat peacefully in his dog bed, a calm and loving presence that grounded our family.
Every day is an adventure with these two. From their silly antics to the quiet moments of companionship, my Cockapoo and Pomeranian make life immeasurably richer. Whether it's a walk with a leash, playtime with balloons, or just enjoying each other's company at home, these furry best friends provide endless joy and make every moment a precious one. They truly are the heart of our home, and I wouldn't trade our time together for anything.
Nice to meet you Sammie, Henry, and Karma!!!
