A Black History Month Address
— The Melanated Goddess Treated as a Slave —

I want to speak to my Melanated Brothers.
Every single one.
Look at your Melanated Goddess.
She is true Black History.
She had to endure.
Her children treated as slaves.
The ignorance of privilege ones—
Who see her children as monkeys.
As animals.
In the eyes of God, she is a Mother.
He gives her life.
On the DOC—the date of conception and creation.
She delivers life on earth.
On the DOB—the date of birth.
She carried His child first.
The date of conception and creation—
When a celestial being became a human being.
Take the time.
Thank her.
For delivering us on a date of birth on earth.
For turning us into a father of God's child.
We as Black men have been cheated.
Cheated from being the father we wanted to be.
Cheated from raising our children to honor our true Father in Heaven.
Hear me:
They didn't just keep you from fathering your children.
God is the Spirit breath inside you.
They kept God too.
The songs know your pain.
The pain we keep deep inside.
So we could survive this long.
Through the ignorance of man.
God is proud of us.
God is on our side.
God knows us—
In our pain.
In our sorrow.
So thank your mother.
And thank the mother of your children.
Even if they separated us.
Even then.
God knows why.
Be that child of God.

Recognizing her as the true embodiment of Black History reminds us to honor and uplift her sacrifices. As a Melanated Brother, understanding this spiritual connection is transformative. We are not just descendants of pain but children of God, entrusted with the responsibility of nurturing and guiding the next generation. Fatherhood in our community carries immense spiritual weight; it's more than biology—it's about raising children toward a higher consciousness and divine purpose. Throughout history, systems have tried to rob Black men of their fatherhood and spiritual identity. Yet, the breath of God remains within, fueling our endurance and hope. Personal experiences often echo this struggle; many have felt the weight of separation and the pain of being denied full participation in their children's lives. However, reclaiming this connection through gratitude toward the Melanated Goddess—the mother of our children—can heal wounds and strengthen bonds. In my own journey, cultivating patience and understanding toward both my mother and partner reshaped my perspective on legacy and healing. The acknowledgement of pain is important, but embracing thankfulness and seeing beyond separation have opened doors to spiritual growth and reconciliation. Moreover, the concepts of the date of conception (DOC) and date of birth (DOB) serve as powerful metaphors. They remind us that life begins in conception from a celestial presence and that every birth is a divine event worthy of reverence. This awareness encourages us to live consciously as heirs to a spiritual heritage, walking a narrow path with integrity without standing on others. The hashtags and references to African religion, black wealth, and cultural identity reinforce that our spirituality is intertwined with our history and present-day resilience. By embracing these teachings and honoring the Melanated Goddess, Melanated Brothers can rise beyond historical limitations and walk proudly as children of God, balanced and spiritually aligned. Ultimately, this message calls for reflection, gratitude, and renewed commitment to healing within families and communities, to build a legacy rooted in faith, respect, and divine purpose.
