Is this the best ramen in Michigan?

/Shiromaru

I always get their Tonkotsu Ramen but they also do a good chicken broth based ramen! There's also clear broths like shoyu and a vegetarian broth if you need one!

Best part is they come with lots of chashu and amy favourite ajitama (marinated egg)

But let me tell you, if you're searching for 'ramen in Troy MI' or the 'best ramen near me' when you're around the area, Shiromaru Ramen in Troy, Michigan, located at 5365 Crooks Rd, is an absolute must-visit. It's quickly become my go-to for a comforting and incredibly flavorful meal. What truly sets Shiromaru apart, from my experience, is their dedication to broth quality and menu simplicity, which allows them to perfect their offerings. While I'm a huge fan of their classic Tonkotsu Ramen – that rich, savory pork bone broth is just incredible – I've also tried their chicken broth-based ramen, which is equally delicious and a lighter alternative. For those with different dietary needs, they thoughtfully offer clear broths like shoyu and a well-crafted vegetarian broth, ensuring everyone can enjoy a fantastic bowl of ramen. I love that they keep the 'ramen menu' focused, mastering a few key types rather than spreading themselves too thin. Beyond the broth, the toppings are where Shiromaru truly shines. Each bowl comes generously loaded with thick-cut chashu (pork belly), which is incredibly tender and melts in your mouth. But my personal favorite, and something I always look forward to, is their ajitama – the perfectly marinated soft-boiled egg. The slightly sweet and savory yolk just elevates the entire experience. The OCR noted that a bowl costs around $16, and honestly, it is 'worth every bite,' especially on a cold Michigan winter day. It’s a hearty, satisfying meal that leaves you feeling wonderfully full. And it's not just about the ramen! While their 'ramen noodles' are definitely a highlight, Shiromaru offers a fantastic selection of appetizers and other Japanese delights that are perfect for sharing or if you're in the mood for something extra. Sometimes I can't resist ordering their fried gyoza – they're crispy, savory, and a great start to the meal. They also have a selection of sushi rolls. If you're like me and love yellowtail, you'll be pleased with their fresh options. It's a wonderful way to round out your dining experience, making it more than just a quick ramen stop but a full culinary adventure in Troy, MI. This place truly delivers on quality and taste, making it a strong contender for the best ramen in the area.
