Found Authentic Hawaiian Poke bowls in Michigan
Unco Chad used to live in Hawaii but now he's in Michigan runs his own food truck selling authentic Hawaiian Poke Bowls!
The portions are huge for the price and it tastes really good. The poke is fresh and very different from any of the poke I've had here. Hawaiian Poke is indeed different and better!
Also tried the Kalua pork plate, that was absolutely delicious. It has this smoky flavour and it's so tender. Will definitely get this again

📍 Unco Chad's Taste of Hawaii food truck, Michigan
Trying Unco Chad's Taste of Hawaii food truck was a delightful experience that brought a true taste of the islands right to Michigan. What stands out immediately is the authenticity of the poke bowls — the freshness of the ahi combined with the unique marinade flavors reminded me of the poké I enjoyed during visits to Hawaii. The difference is noticeable compared to typical continental versions often found here. The quality of the ingredients really shines through. Another dish I tried was the Kalua pork plate, which was impressive not only for its smoky, rich flavor but also the perfect tenderness of the meat. It melts in your mouth and pairs wonderfully with the rice, creating a satisfying and filling meal. The portion sizes offered are generous, making it great value for the price paid. Beyond just the food, I appreciated the mobility and accessibility of the food truck, bringing Hawaiian cuisine to Canton and Ann Arbor communities. Following their social media pages helped me keep track of their rotating locations and not miss out on any pop-up opportunities. Plus, the addition of items like the vegetarian Hawaiian spring rolls added variety for different preferences. If you cherish the idea of eating fresh seafood combined with distinct Polynesian flavors or crave the comfort of traditional Hawaiian dishes, this food truck is a must-try. It’s proof that vibrant island flavors can be successfully recreated outside of Hawaii, giving Michigan foodies a unique and enjoyable dining option on wheels.
