The best chili oil noodles in Michigan

Miss Chang An is a new Chinese restaurant specializing in Xi'An cuisine, like their cold noodles and mutton paomo soup. You must try their roujiamo, it's a popular Chinese street food similar to a Chinese hamburger. Both pork and lamb meat are delicious!

And really like their claypot pork rib noodles too. Everything was delicious, and it wasn't very spicy at all.

Their boba drinks are good too, make sure you try their wintermelon green tee and passion fruit smoothie!

Having visited this restaurant myself, I was truly impressed by the authentic flavors that captivated my taste buds. The chili oil used in their noodles is rich in umami, expertly blending spicy, tangy, and savory notes that tantalize rather than overwhelm. This balance makes the noodles great for those who enjoy complex flavors but aren’t fans of extreme spice. One standout dish is the roujiamo — often described as a Chinese hamburger. The combination of tender stewed pork or cumin lamb stuffed inside a crispy, flaky bread really highlights the traditional essence of Xi’an street food. It’s perfect for a quick meal or a snack between dishes and pairs wonderfully with their claypot pork rib noodles, which offer comforting warmth and depth. Another must-try is their cold Liang Pi noodles, tossed with black vinegar, chili oil, and garlic sauce. It’s refreshing and vibrant, especially for warmer days, demonstrating the versatility of Xi’an cuisine. The mutton paomo soup offers hearty satisfaction with its rich broth and tender meat pieces, ideal for cold weather. Don’t skip the beverages — the wintermelon green tea and passion fruit smoothie are fantastic complements to the meal, balancing the spices with sweet, cooling flavors. Miss Chang An’s menu also includes a beef and onion rice bowl reminiscent of Japanese Yoshinoya, catering to varied preferences. For foodies in Michigan looking to explore authentic Chinese regional cuisine, this spot in Troy is a gem worth visiting multiple times. The ambiance may be unpretentious, but the food quality and flavor bursts are anything but ordinary. Expect freshly made noodles and sauces, ensuring a memorable, satisfying dining experience every visit.
