Blood Ain’t Loyalty
Sharing a last name don’t erase fake energy.
Family ain’t titles — it’s actions.
If the energy fake, I distance you like anybody else. 💯 #OGMammaDee #RealTalk #ProtectYourPeace #FamilyTruth #EnergyDontLie #CircleGetsSmaller
In my personal experience, I’ve often found that the concept of family goes far beyond just genetics or sharing the same last name. It’s about the energy people bring into your life and the actions they take that demonstrate genuine care and support. There have been times when I’ve had to make tough decisions to distance myself from relatives whose behavior was toxic or disingenuous, even though we were supposedly ‘family.’ This process isn’t easy because society often pressures us to maintain family ties at all costs. But over time, I realized that holding onto relationships just because of blood can drain your emotional well-being, especially if the energy is fake or negative. Instead, prioritizing your peace and surrounding yourself with authentic, loving people—whether related or not—builds a healthier support system. I used to struggle with guilt over setting boundaries with family members, fearing judgment or misunderstanding. However, setting clear boundaries helped me avoid unnecessary stress and heartbreak. I learned that actions speak louder than words, and consistency and honesty are key indicators of true family loyalty. It’s empowering to recognize that you can create your own chosen family—people who uplift you, respect your values, and bring positive energy to your life. Sharing a last name doesn’t erase fake energy, so sometimes protecting yourself means redefining what family truly means to you. Remember, your peace is worth protecting, and detaching from toxic family dynamics is a courageous and necessary step towards emotional freedom.
