No Swearing!!!🗣
On today's episode of my feminine journey, I have implemented no swearing as a part of the journey. This has been soooooo hard😩! I have gotten to a point where it's a part of my vocabulary, and I'm in the process of stopping that.
I've had good days and weeks, but I've noticed that I break the streak around that time of the month, so I did some work on what swearing means and does for me and I came up with the below:
🤬It relieves tension
🤬It exposes my frustration
🤬It exposes my lack of patience
🤬It's a defense mechanism
🤬It's one of my ways to fight back
🤬It lets someone know I'm angry
I started working on things I can change to replace swearing and one technique that I learned is that when I'm frustrated or angry, I should acknowledge that (out loud) in the conversation because it's a form of effective communication and I get a chance to address that emotion as it is happening. It REALLY works! When I acknowledge the emotion, it triggers me to have an active plan to calm down, and it lets the peron(s) know that the conversation should be going in a different direction.
I also realized that what I consume really matters. The music I consume is more soft r&b and Christian nowadays...heavy on the Christian music. Years ago, I stopped watching a lot of TV shows with physical fighting, but I'm still mindful of what I watch.
This is something that I'm doing for my journey as I feel this will help me in my soft girl Era. 🥰

Additionally, reflecting on the reasons for swearing can shed light on underlying frustrations and stressors. Mapping out an emotional response plan when feeling overwhelmed can further aid in reducing reliance on swearing. The ultimate goal is to cultivate a more graceful way of expressing anger and frustration, transforming them into productive discussions rather than impulsive reactions. This transformative journey not only impacts your personal expression but also how those around you perceive and respond to challenges.
