New nail set in progress 🙌 ✨️ ☺️
This is my first time doing design on my nails
Starting my nail art journey has been such a fun and surprisingly therapeutic experience! When I decided it was my first time doing design on my nails, I honestly had no idea where to begin. But seeing all the amazing creations online, I felt inspired to just dive in. My goal was simple: create a sparkly, eye-catching look, and that's how I landed on this gorgeous glittery, shimmery purple polish. Choosing the right polish shades is half the fun. While I adore vibrant colors and glitters, I've also been eyeing some sophisticated nude nail shades lately. They're perfect for everyday wear or when you want a more understated elegance. Maybe my next project will be exploring a beautiful creamy beige or a soft pink nude! But for this new design in progress, purple glitter felt just right for a bold first attempt at nail art. For anyone thinking about trying DIY nail designs for the first time, here are a few things I've learned that made a big difference for me: First, prep is key! Don't skip cleaning your nails, pushing back cuticles, and applying a good base coat. It really helps the polish adhere better and last longer. I used to think it was just an extra step, but trust me, it makes a huge difference. Second, take your time. This isn't a race! Especially when you're doing a new design, slow and steady wins. I found myself rushing initially, which led to more mistakes. Once I relaxed and enjoyed the process, my application became much smoother. Third, don't be afraid of mistakes. As you saw from my photos, I definitely had some polish on the skin around the nails, which is totally normal for a beginner! I learned that having a small brush dipped in nail polish remover nearby is a lifesaver for cleaning up those edges. It makes the final look so much cleaner and professional, even if it's your first attempt at nail art. Fourth, layering glitters can create incredible depth. For my glittery, shimmery purple polish, I applied a few thin coats to build up that dazzling effect. It's much better than one thick coat, which can become clumpy and takes ages to dry. And finally, seal it with a top coat! This is non-negotiable. A good top coat not only adds an extra layer of shine but also protects your design from chipping. It literally locks your hard work in place. I'm already thinking about my next nail adventure. Perhaps gradient glitter, or even trying some simple freehand patterns. The world of nail design is so vast and exciting, and I'm really enjoying exploring it step by step. If you're a beginner like me, I highly encourage you to pick up some polish and give it a go. It's incredibly satisfying to look down at your hands and see something you created yourself!
