I’m worth it…
It's funny how long it took me to truly understand and internalize the phrase, 'I know my value.' For years, I found myself constantly seeking validation from others, second-guessing my decisions, and letting self-doubt chip away at my confidence. I’d compare myself to everyone around me, always feeling like I was falling short. Does that sound familiar to anyone else? It was a really exhausting way to live, always feeling like I had to prove something. But then, something shifted. It wasn't a single dramatic moment, but a series of small revelations. I started noticing the unique qualities I brought to the table – not just in work or relationships, but in who I am as a person. I began to understand that my worth wasn't tied to external achievements or what others thought of me, but came from within. It was about recognizing that I am a 'TYPE YOU CAN BRAG ABOUT,' not in an arrogant way, but in a way that acknowledges my inherent strengths, kindness, resilience, and all the quirks that make me, me. One crucial step for me was learning to set boundaries. For too long, I was always trying to be everything to everyone, which left me feeling drained and undervalued. When I started saying 'no' to things that didn't align with my well-being or goals, it felt scary at first. But with each 'no' to others, I was saying a resounding 'YES' to myself. It was then I truly started believing that I am an 'ABSOLUTE YES' – a person deserving of respect, joy, and opportunities, simply by existing. This journey also involved letting go of comparison. Social media can be a huge trap for this, right? I learned to celebrate my own progress, no matter how small, and to remind myself that everyone is on their own unique path. Instead of focusing on what I lacked, I started practicing daily gratitude for what I had and who I was becoming. Simple affirmations in the morning, like looking in the mirror and genuinely saying, 'I am worthy,' started to rewire my thinking. Embracing my value has changed everything. My relationships are healthier because I attract people who respect me. My work feels more fulfilling because I pursue what truly matters to me. And most importantly, my relationship with myself is so much stronger. I no longer feel the constant need for external approval because I have built that foundation within. If you're reading this and thinking, 'I wish I knew my value,' please know you're not alone, and it's absolutely possible to get there. Start small. Identify one thing you love about yourself. Practice saying 'no' to something that doesn't serve you. Remind yourself daily that you are an 'ABSOLUTE YES' and a 'TYPE YOU CAN BRAG ABOUT.' Your journey to self-worth is unique, but it's one of the most empowering paths you'll ever take. You are worth it, and it's time to truly believe that.
