For a deliciously rich chocolate chip cookie, start with high-quality ingredients. Use 1 ½ cups of flour, ¾ cup of white sugar, ½ cup of brown sugar, 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips, and a pinch of salt. Don’t forget the baking soda and pure vanilla extract for flavor! As you mix your ingredients, cream the softened stick of butter with the sugars first until smooth, ensuring a light, fluffy texture. Combine your dry ingredients separately before folding them into the butter mixture to avoid overmixing, which can make your cookies tough. Once you’ve shaped the dough into 1.5-inch balls, bake them at 350°F for approximately 13 minutes. The cookies should be slightly underbaked to achieve that gooey center everyone loves. Allow them to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack. This classic cookie recipe can be customized with add-ins like nuts or different types of chocolate for variations. Perfect for any gathering, these cookies are sure to impress! Enjoy with a glass of cold milk or share as thoughtful homemade gifts during the holidays.
