Weekend Trip to Disney ✨
Spontaneous trip to Florida for the weekend 🥰
I’m so incredibly blessed to be able to have a spontaneous trip to Orlando.
I got to see my sisters and got to be away from the snow here in Iowa. 🫶🏼
We only did one day of parks but we did 3/4 of the Walt Disney world theme parks. We ate some great food and rode a couple of rides that we were able to get on last time!
We also surprised my best friend’s dad at magic kingdom, he was so happy to see us😭 I almost cried hugging him, but I always do.
I didn’t expect Florida to be so cold in March, I haven’t lived there in 8 years. Still warmer than the Midwest though 🥶
I’m ready to move back to Florida 🌴

It's true, nothing beats a spontaneous trip, especially when it's to Walt Disney World! My recent whirlwind weekend in Orlando, escaping the Iowa chill, proved just that. While the original post touched on the magic, I really wanted to dive deeper into what made our single park day so epic, especially when it came to those incredible Disney rides and must-try food experiences. Since we managed to hit three out of the four parks in one day – a feat in itself! – maximizing our ride time was key. For anyone planning a quick Disney Orlando adventure, here are a few rides that truly stood out for me and are definitely worth prioritizing: First up, Space Mountain at Magic Kingdom. This classic indoor roller coaster never gets old! The thrill of zooming through the dark, with stars whizzing by, is just pure nostalgia and adrenaline combined. It’s a fantastic way to kick off the day or to get an evening burst of energy. Another Magic Kingdom gem for me is Haunted Mansion. It’s not just a ride; it’s an experience with incredible storytelling and iconic characters. Definitely a must-do for its unique atmosphere. Over at Epcot, if you’re looking for speed, Test Track is a blast. Designing your own car and then putting it to the test at top speeds is super engaging. It’s a great way to feel like you’re part of the action. And for a change of pace, the journey inside Spaceship Earth is always a calm and fascinating look at communication history. For thrill-seekers, my absolute favorite has to be The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Hollywood Studios. The drops are unpredictable, and the theming is impeccable. It always gives me that exhilarating rush! If you're with family, Slinky Dog Dash in Toy Story Land is a fantastically fun coaster that's suitable for most. But let's be honest, a Disney trip isn't complete without indulging in some incredible food! While we grabbed quick bites everywhere, one place I always make a point to visit is Gideon's Bakehouse at Disney Springs. Their half-pound cookies are legendary, and seriously, you haven't lived until you've tried their Original Chocolate Chip or the Peanut Butter Crisp. The queues can be long, but trust me, it’s worth every minute for that warm, gooey goodness. It was definitely a highlight, and I might have packed a few extra for the flight home! Another sweet treat I adore are the churros from various carts around the parks – perfect for a quick sugar boost between rides. To make the most of a short visit like ours, I highly recommend using Disney Genie+ to minimize wait times for your favorite rides. Mobile ordering for food saved us so much precious time. We also started our day with 'rope drop' – arriving before the parks officially open – to get on popular rides with minimal waits. Planning your must-dos beforehand is crucial, but also leave room for a little spontaneity; sometimes the best memories are made in those unplanned moments, like surprising my best friend's dad! This weekend reminded me why Florida and Disney will always have a piece of my heart. I’m already dreaming of my next magical escape!
