Danbi Review: New Korean restaurant

I promised you to go to Danbi and can’t wait to share my honest opinion!

The food was great! Swipe to see my order! And the bonus is… 🥁 The full menu at the end!

Honestly, I felt like this place was Tokki, just now they call it Danbi, but yes, with the renewed menu! Well, and the same interior! If you’re familiar with Tokki vibes you will totally get what I mean.

I loved the vibe. Arrived there before the sun went down and left when it was dark outside and they turned the lights on in the restaurant. Felt so romantic and cozy.

Pretty pricey, but still my favorite location to order food and just enjoy the view ❤️

⭐️Overall rating: 10/10

... Read moreWhile the initial impressions of Danbi are undeniably positive, there's so much more to unpack about this fantastic Korean gem in Los Angeles. From the moment you step inside, the interior immediately sets a sophisticated yet inviting tone. Those queries about 'korean restaurant warm lighting interior' are definitely onto something! Imagine high ceilings adorned with elegant hanging plants, casting a soft, romantic glow that evolves beautifully as day turns to night. It creates a truly cozy atmosphere, perfect for a special date night or a relaxed evening with friends, where you can genuinely enjoy the view and company. Now, let's talk about the food, because that's where Danbi truly shines. The menu, which I was thrilled to explore, offers a carefully curated selection of Korean dishes that go beyond the usual. For instance, the 'scallop pancake' is an absolute must-try – perfectly crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, with succulent scallops that melt in your mouth. And if you're a fan of traditional yet elevated comfort food, the 'mushroom bibimbap' is a revelation. It’s a beautifully presented bowl bursting with fresh ingredients, savory mushrooms, and a perfectly runny egg yolk, all waiting to be mixed into a harmonious melody of flavors. Don't overlook the 'sliced pork jowl' either; it’s tender, flavorful, and pairs wonderfully with their accompanying sauces, showcasing the kitchen's mastery of Korean flavors. Their 'dinner options' truly offer a delightful culinary journey. For those wondering about the 'all you can eat' aspect, it's important to note that Danbi is not an AYCE KBBQ spot. Instead, it offers a refined à la carte dining experience, focusing on quality and unique preparations rather than quantity. This allows them to create dishes like the exquisite 'banana milk cloud' for dessert – a light, creamy, and subtly sweet treat that provides the perfect ending to your meal from their 'dessert options'. Regarding the 'danbi coffee' and 'danbi matcha' queries, while they have an impressive 'drink menu' featuring cocktails, Korean liquors, and wines, this establishment is primarily a Korean restaurant rather than a coffee shop, so manage your expectations if you're looking for a dedicated coffee experience. Yes, Danbi might be 'pretty pricey,' as I mentioned, but from my experience, it genuinely delivers on value. You’re not just paying for a meal; you're investing in an entire experience – the impeccable service, the stunning 'warm lighting interior,' the romantic ambiance, and most importantly, the exceptionally delicious and thoughtfully prepared Korean food. It's the kind of place you'll want to revisit for those moments when you crave something truly special and memorable. My 10/10 rating stands, and I wholeheartedly recommend discovering this culinary gem for yourself in Los Angeles!
