CA State Fair
Yesterday I went to the CA State Fair with my family. We saw cows, llamas, and sheep! All so cute! We got on some of the rides and played a few games. The highlight of the day was going to see the horse races! 🐎 There were a total of 8 races. I kind of learned how to place bets, but I didn’t win any 😂 maybe next year lol
Have you been to your state fair or any horse races?
OMG, you guys, I just had to share more about my trip to the CA State Fair! It wasn't just about the animals and horse races, though those were definitely highlights. If you're thinking of going, let me tell you, it's a full-on sensory overload in the best way possible! First off, the rides! After seeing all the cute cows and llamas, we headed straight for the midway. There are so many options, from classic carousels for the little ones to super thrilling roller coasters that twist and turn. I personally love the swing rides – you know, the ones that lift you high into the air and spin you around? They give you such an amazing view of the whole fairgrounds! It's such a rush, and definitely worth braving the lines for. Just thinking about the wind in my hair as I soared on one of those makes me smile! And let's not forget the food! Seriously, you haven't truly experienced a state fair until you've tried some of the crazy delicious food. We're talking everything fried – deep-fried Oreos, funnel cakes piled high with whipped cream and strawberries, giant turkey legs... my mouth is watering just remembering it! I tried a gourmet corn dog this year that was surprisingly amazing. It's definitely a place where you can throw your diet out the window for a day and just indulge. Don't forget to stay hydrated though, especially if it's a sunny day! Beyond the horse races, which were SO exciting even though my betting skills need work, there's always so much other entertainment happening. We saw some amazing street performers and heard live music playing throughout the day. Sometimes they even have other competitive events, like tractor pulls or even stunt shows, which can be super thrilling and a different kind of "motorsports" fun if you're into that! It's worth checking the schedule when you arrive so you don't miss anything. For anyone looking to plan their own fair day, here are a few tips I picked up. Wear comfy shoes – you'll be doing a lot of walking! Go early if you want to beat some of the crowds, especially for popular rides. And definitely grab a map or download the fair's app. It helps so much with navigating the huge grounds and finding showtimes for things like the horse races or animal demonstrations. Also, consider bringing a small backpack for water bottles and any prizes you might win from the games. It makes the whole experience so much smoother and more enjoyable. It's truly a day where you can create so many fun family memories!
