In this world, the population is declining, and omegas have become incredibly valuable because of their ability to reproduce. Instead of being treated as people with choices and rights, they are essentially viewed as breeding commodities.
The protagonist is one of the last naturally born omegas. What he believes will be a safe arrangement quickly turns into a nightmare when he discovers that his own father has sold him.
He is taken to a breeding facility and forced into a life where his body is controlled by others. He is subjected to repeated breeding and abuse, with very little control over what happens to him.

💭 My Thoughts
What I found most striking about Bred is just how dark and emotionally heavy it is. The story doesn't shy away from the disturbing reality of its premise. The captivity and forced-breeding elements aren't just background tropes—they are fundamental to the protagonist's experience.
At the same time, the moments of tenderness become much more powerful because of how awful the surrounding circumstances are. Even small acts of kindness carry enormous emotional weight.
The story is also quite fast-paced because of its shorter length, so it doesn't spend a huge amount of time developing the world or every character. Instead, it focuses primarily on the protagonist's experience and his developing connection with the one person who begins to make him feel valued rather than simply used.
