Any tips for a beginner ? #cozygamer #acnh #cozyswitchgames #animalcrossing
Are you new to Animal Crossing: New Horizons? Like many of us, you might be feeling a bit overwhelmed, especially after that initial conversation with Tom Nook about your 49,800 Bells move-in fees! I remember that feeling – it was definitely a "POV: Playing Animal Crossing for the first time and already in debt" moment. But don't worry, I've got some essential tips to help you get started and progress smoothly on your island. Conquering Your First Debt (The 49,800 Bells Loan) That first tent loan might seem daunting, but it's surprisingly easy to pay off. Your main goal in the beginning should be to gather and sell resources. Forget about grand island designs for a moment; focus on these money-making activities: Fish & Bugs are Your Best Friends: Grab your flimsy fishing rod and net! Spend time catching every fish and bug you see. Some are worth more than others, but every Bell counts. Sell them directly to Timmy and Tommy at the Resident Services tent. Early on, these are your most reliable income sources. Shake Trees & Whack Rocks: Every tree on your island can drop fruit, branches, and sometimes even Bells! Don't forget to hit the rocks with your flimsy shovel. Each rock can yield up to 8 resources (like clay, stone, iron nuggets, and Bells) if you hit it quickly enough without moving. Collect Shells & Weeds: Scour your beaches for shells daily – they regenerate! Weeds, while seemingly annoying, also sell for a small amount. Every little bit helps to chip away at that 49,800 Bell debt. Establishing Your Island Life & Earning More Bells Once that first loan is paid, you'll upgrade to a house, which means more debt (yay!). But now you have more ways to earn and progress: Upgrade Your Tools: Prioritize getting the recipes for sturdier tools. Flimsy tools break quickly, interrupting your gathering flow. You'll get these from Timmy and Tommy or from Nook Miles recipes. Plant Non-Native Fruit: When you visit Nook Miles Ticket islands, you'll often find a fruit different from your native one. Bring it back and plant it! Non-native fruit sells for 500 Bells each on your island, compared to 100 Bells for your native fruit. This becomes a great passive income source. Donate to the Museum, Then Sell Duplicates: Collect fossils daily. Blathers can assess them. Donate the ones you don't have yet, and sell any duplicates. Fossils are often worth thousands of Bells! Check "Hot Items" at Nook's Cranny: Once Nook's Cranny is built, Timmy and Tommy will offer to buy a specific "hot item" each day for double its usual price. Check this daily and craft/gather as many as you can if you have the materials. This is a fantastic way to earn Bells quickly. Island Progression – What Comes Next? As you pay off loans and complete tasks for Tom Nook, your island will slowly begin to develop. Here's a general progression: Nook's Cranny: This general store is usually one of the first permanent buildings you'll unlock. It provides more inventory, daily hot items, and a drop-off box for selling after hours. The Museum: After donating enough unique fish, bugs, and fossils, Blathers will set up a proper museum, giving your island a cultural hub. Inviting Villagers: Use Nook Miles Tickets to visit mystery islands. You can invite up to three villagers to move into pre-built plots, expanding your island's community. House Upgrades: Each time you pay off a home loan, Tom Nook will offer an upgrade, giving you more rooms and storage space. While it means more debt, it's essential for customization. Remember, Animal Crossing is designed to be played at your own pace. Don't feel pressured to rush or compare your island to others online. Enjoy the cozy, relaxing journey of building your unique island paradise!
