My favorite question I get asked is- “Do you wish you would’ve worked harder to not gain weight with your pregnancies/postpartum?” And my answer is duh?! But here is the thing, I look back on that time in my life and I was truly doing the best I could 🥺 Struggling mentally with anxiety, binge eating, pumping breast milk, taking care of my kids while my husband was on night shift, dealing with a narcissistic mother, all while living in a pandemic. At that time all I could do was show up for my kids and take care of them every day. I quite literally did not have the capacity to care for anyone but them. And that is okay!!! I would go back and do it over and over again because there is nothing better than being their mama and sometimes that’s all you can focus on. There are many seasons in life. There will be a time for the gym, healthy meal prep, cute outfits, etc. But there was also a time for growing life, nursing bras, messy hair, and those little hands wrapping around your thumb. No matter where you are at just keep showing up. Time is fleeting and you’ll be in a new season before you know it. And while the new season will be amazing… there will still be parts about once upon a time you will miss. 🥹❤️

The journey of motherhood includes not only the joy of nurturing your children but also the challenges that come with changes in one’s body and mental health. It’s common for mothers to struggle with body image after pregnancy. Many women grapple with feelings of guilt about their appearance or doubts about their postpartum health. However, it's crucial to acknowledge that each individual's experience is unique and deserves compassion. Creating a supportive environment for yourself during this time is vital. This can involve seeking professional help for mental health concerns, joining communities for mothers, sharing experiences, and learning about realistic body expectations after childbirth. It is equally important to prioritize wellness, which might include light activities, mindful eating, or simply allowing yourself rest. Remember that self-love is a journey, and being patient with yourself during this season is part of becoming the best version of yourself. As you transition to this new phase of life, finding balance becomes a central theme. You may feel different after childbirth, but embracing this evolution and the new role can lead to a meaningful and fulfilling experience. Cherish those moments with your children; they will be the ones you hold onto, even as time changes and seasons shift. Celebrate your journey, recognize the sacrifices made, and remember that it’s not about perfection, but progress.
