Military Housing (Furnished Kitchen Tour)
Update to my Unfurnished House Tour on Fort Cavazos, Texas (formerly known as Fort Hood). Our kitchen is completely decorated! I did my best to cover most of the ugly tile with a large rug. There was an awkward space by the fridge so I added a bookshelf, which is unfortunately off centered due to needing space for the trash can. We could use a little more storage but I think we made best use of the space given!
Military housing is a hit or miss, for sure. We actually said no to the first house shown to us, so we felt super fortunate to be given this house that had a lot more space!
Comment if you want specific links to any of the items. I have plans to post more of the house soon. Just need to find the time to get the space cleaned while taking care of our 7 month old. 🫶🏻
Thanks for stopping by!

When it comes to military housing, the experiences vary greatly among families. In this case, we found a lovely home with ample space despite initial hesitations. One essential aspect of settling in is personalizing your kitchen area. Rugs, bookshelves, and the right decor play crucial roles in making that space feel homey and functional. For those looking for style inspiration, consider blending practical items like marble utensil holders from Target with personal touches, such as family photos or children’s art. Additionally, layout is paramount; ensure that furniture placement doesn't obstruct movement, especially in high-traffic areas like kitchens. For those worried about the aesthetics of older military homes, using vibrant throw rugs can conceal dated flooring while adding color and warmth. Explore options available on Amazon to enhance your kitchen without breaking the bank. Each piece, from storage solutions to decor, contributes to creating a space that feels uniquely yours, transforming a temporary house into a cozy home for your family.

My husband and I are in Fort Cavazos (I just got a notification for this post lol) but for having a baby I always feel like my counters and floors are always cluttered. There is not enough counter space I agree with that!! That’s why downside but other than that I love our house for being base housing
