Hey everyone! I've been getting so many questions about my recent goth looks, especially the no-eyebrow style and how I incorporate braids. So, I thought I'd share my personal journey and tips on how I achieve these looks. It's all about embracing individuality and pushing boundaries, right? First up, let's talk about the no-eyebrow goth look. For me, it’s not just about removing eyebrows; it’s about creating a blank canvas for dramatic eye makeup and a truly striking aesthetic. It might seem daunting at first, but trust me, it's easier than you think with a few tricks! My go-to method involves a strong glue stick – yes, the kind for school projects! I apply a layer over my natural brows, brushing the hairs flat, then let it dry. I repeat this a couple of times, always brushing upwards. Once it’s completely dry, I use a full-coverage concealer, usually a shade lighter than my skin, to completely obscure the brow area. Blending is key here, so I gently tap it in with a damp beauty sponge. After that, a good setting powder locks everything in place, preventing creasing and giving a smooth finish. Sometimes, I leave it completely bare for an ethereal, alien-like vibe. Other times, I draw on thin, angular brows with a black or dark grey eyeshadow and a fine brush, creating a more stylized, almost cartoonish goth feel. It really lets my eye makeup pop – think dramatic wings, heavy liner, and smokey shadows! Now, onto goth braids! Braids are such an essential part of my goth aesthetic because they add texture, intricacy, and a touch of dark romance. They can be elegant, edgy, or super playful depending on how you style them. One of my absolute favorite go-to styles is Dutch pigtail braids. I start by prepping my hair with a little dry shampoo, even when it's clean, because it adds grip and volume, which is crucial for braids that last all day – or night! Then, I part my hair down the middle and begin French braiding (or Dutch braiding, if I want them to pop more) from the front, incorporating new sections as I go. I try to keep the tension even so the braids look neat and symmetrical. Once I reach the nape of my neck, I continue with a regular three-strand braid all the way to the ends and secure them with a dark hair tie. To really make them goth, I often weave in black or dark purple ribbons, or even add some small silver rings and charms throughout the braids. It adds that extra layer of detail that screams alternative fashion. Experimenting with different braid styles is so much fun.
