Honeyed Tarte Tatin! ๐๐ฏ
If thereโs ONE dessert you need on your Rosh Hashanah table this year, itโs Nigella Lawsons Honeyed Tarte Tatin! ๐๐ฏ
Instead of the usual caramel, this beauty is made with honey and butter, which gives the apples the most stunning golden glaze and lets that honey flavor shine through. Truly, itโs as delicious as it looks! ๐
This is great topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and youโve got the perfect sweet ending to the holiday! ๐๐จ
LโShanah Tovah to all who celebrate! May your year be as sweet as this tarte. ๐ฏ
Ingredients ๐
โข 6 honey crisp apples, peeled and quartered
โข 6 tbsp honey
โข 1/4 tsp salt
โข 4 tbsp unsalted butter
โข 1 sheet of puff pastry, softened
โข Vanilla ice cream, for serving
Directions โ๏ธ
โข Preheat oven to 430F.
โข Melt the butter in a medium sautรฉ pan. Pour the honey into the butter along with the salt.
โข Bring to a boil for 10 seconds then remove the pan from the heat.
โข Arrange the apple quarters going all around the pan and filling in the gaps in the middle.
โข Place the pan back onto the heat and bring to a boil and let it bubble for 15 minutes. While it is bubbling away, use a spoon to flip the apples around so they get fully covered in the honey syrup.
โข Remove the pan from the heat and allow to cool for 10 minutes before using a spoon to stick into the syrup to make sure it has thickened up. Place into the oven and immediately reduce the heat to 390F, and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.
โข Remove the pan from the oven and allow to sit for 3 minutes before placing a serving plate on top of the pan and carefully flip it over so the tart comes out and the apples are on top.
โข Serve up with vanilla ice cream and enjoy!
