Tips for selling clothes 💰
Have to ever gone to sell clothes at Plato’s Closet, and not sold a single thing? You’re doing it wrong! Here are my top tips on how to sell your clothes to resale shops:
1) Always bring your clothes washed, and in shopping bags with no hangers.
2) Bring clothes that are in season, don’t bring a coat in summer, shorts in winter, etc.
3)Call ahead of time and ask what they are looking for. Often, their list for accepted clothing changes every 30 days.
4)Go to multiple different locations, because they will all accept different pieces based on what they already have/don’t have in stock.
5) Last but not least, HAVE LOW EXPECTATIONS. Do not go into the store expecting to make tons of money, because then you will be disappointed if they only take a couple things. Instead make reasonable goals, and when they take a few things it may even be more than you expected.
