⋅˚₊‧ 𐙚 digital planning beginner? start here

leveling up or even starting your digital planning journey doesn't have to be complicated! here's everything you need to know to get started this 2025:

1️⃣ tools: of course the dynamic duo here is an ipad and apple pencil! if you don't have both already, check apple's website for options that are compatible and that for your budget. if necessary, use the education program to get a few hundred dollars off your purchase! of course if you're not an ipad owner, but have a different tablet and stylus you can use that as well!

2️⃣ apps: there are so many app options even it comes to digital planning! goodnotes 6 is the most popular app that's free to download. notebooks are limited with the free version so i recommend paying the $29.99 one time fee for access to all features. notability, zinnia journal, and @Freenotes are all wonderful alternatives to goodnotes 6!

3️⃣ choose your planner: because there are literally thousands of options, choosing your planner can be quite time consuming. go in knowing what you want!

• horizontal vs vertical planner

• trackers you're looking for (mood, reading, habits, etc)

• spread types (daily, weekly, monthly)

• organization of pages

• functionality of planner

for me, it's helpful to watch youtube videos to figure out what i want in a planner before picking it out.

4️⃣ setting it up: if your planner includes it, begin with your year at a glance. include important dates such as birthdays, vacations, holidays, work trips, etc. then you can move on to setting up your trackers and monthly pages!

5️⃣ stickers: there's no exaggerating when i say stickers are the most fun part of digital planning! they allow you to express your creativity and make your planner truly unique to you! a lot of them can be found with a simple pinterest search and will often times lead you to a google drive folder to download them all.

6️⃣ have fun: if you're not having fun, you're doing it wrong! digital planning can be a version of zen if you do it correctly. if you're heat starting out, don't worry too much aboot making it look the most beautiful, just enjoy it!

7️⃣ enjoy some weekly spreads from my 2021 planner! i'm feeling inspired to start to my digital planning journey again this year so stay tuned for more of that!!
