The way I cringed when I had my first boy and I had so many people commenting “oh so your done now! You got your boy!” Nooo bishhh, that doesn’t official mean I’m done- mind your business. #sahm #momoffiveandabonus
As a mother of five, including my first boy after three girls, I've encountered many moments that tested my patience and resilience. One experience that really stood out was the unsolicited remarks people made when I had my son, suggesting that I was "done" having children. Those comments not only felt intrusive but completely disregarded my personal journey and choices as a mother. Another challenge I faced was the difficulty in managing my children's bedtime routines. Putting five kids to bed can be exhausting and requires constant focus and energy. Sometimes, the quiet moments I desperately sought at 5 a.m. for alone time were interrupted by the tiniest sounds, like footsteps, pulling me back into my role as a caregiver. Moreover, simple daily tasks, such as handling a baby screaming in the car or worrying about passing my baby around, brought their own brand of stress and anxiety. These experiences, while challenging, also reminded me of the strength and love required to be a dedicated stay-at-home mom (#sahm). For any mom who feels overwhelmed, know that these feelings are valid and shared by many. It's important to set boundaries with others about your family decisions and to find those peaceful moments whenever you can, no matter how small. Motherhood is a journey full of ups and downs, but these stories help build a community of support and understanding.
