I’m tired of begging people to be in my kids life. #sahm #momoffive
As a parent, it's incredibly difficult when you feel like you're the only one fighting to keep people involved in your child's life. My experience has taught me that the emotional strain comes not just from the effort itself but from seeing how much your kids deserve better. Children thrive when they have consistent, meaningful relationships with family, friends, and community members. I’ve learned that setting boundaries and clearly communicating expectations to those around you can sometimes encourage more engagement. However, it’s also important to protect your mental health and your kids’ emotional well-being by focusing on positive relationships and not dwelling on the ones that aren't supportive. Joining parent communities, whether online or locally, labeled with hashtags like #sahm (stay-at-home mom) or #momoffive, has provided me with advice and solidarity. Sharing stories of similar struggles reassures me that I’m not alone in wanting a nurturing environment for my children. Remember, it’s okay to advocate strongly for your kids while also letting go of those who repeatedly don’t show up. Creating a loving, dependable circle for children is vital for their growth and happiness. Ultimately, by putting our children first, we set the foundation for them to build healthy relationships throughout their lives.
