You ever just NEEDED A BREAK🗣️
Genesis 32: 24-26
Jacob wrestle with God - BREAKDOWN pt.1
One of the greatest gift you can ever receive or give to yourself is a Break🩵
We live in a Culture that glorifies grinding but downplays needing a break 😬 We need Rest🧡
Rest is one of the greatest act of Faith because it’s expecting God to do more while you do less🩵
Sometimes your greatest hindrance to your breakthrough is not the devil 😈 sometimes it’s you
sometimes God can’t bless you because YOU TOO BUSY🗣️
Because sometimes God has to wait until you rest so he can show you what’s next! 🙏🏽
Today when we say we need a break not just resting we are also talking about releasing
What if it’s some places, things and people that he wants to break off you!!!
It’s not about moving what’s bad but moving what’s best 🥰
What do you do when God is trying to open your eyes to let go of something that is still good but no longer god?
- God is not saying they’re bad for you but he asking if you’re just going to settle for good all your life ?
Remember ALL HUMANITY failed because Adam chose what was good and not what was God
Take a break so that you can catch your breath but also let God break what has been breaking you
Which brings me to Jacob wrestling with God 🩵
Sometimes what’s breaking you is not on the outside but on the inside side . You can blame the person and place all you want but sometimes God is saying I have to do some work on the inside so you can have the courage to stay away from what’s happening on the outside🗣️🗣️
Many of us don’t just need a break from work we need a break from WRESTLING 🗣️🗣️
Because some of us aren’t worn out from what we are doing on the outside. We are worn out from what’s happening on the inside ——> you holding on to Jacob but Israel on the inside
You holding.to your soft girl era when God said I got a Boaz… 💕
He said said you waiting on me to give you something but you won’t have that something until you become someone else because I don’t TRUST just anything with anybody. I need you to have the right stature the right mental, spiritual, and emotional capacity so that you don’t FUMBLE FAVOR when favor get in your hands💜
If we’re being honest we are all Wrestling with something—> wrestling with who we use to be , intrusive thoughts, what happened to you this week, your kids, work, your relationship, who didn’t speak … but guess what ..
WRESTLE UNTIL YOU WIN💪🏽
The problem is not you wrestling it’s that you keep throwing the towel in and giving up before you get your breakthrough.. LIKE JACOB - wrestle until you WIN🥰
You want the wedding but don’t want to wrestle for the thriving marriage .. ohh okay
You want the new house but don’t want to wrestle for the Income to keep paying the mortgage 🤔
Jacob said I will not let go until YOU BLESS ME🗣️
So Jacob was left alone… Jacob sent everything he had ahead of him because sometimes God waits until your all by yourself to deal with you w/o distractions ♥️
So sometimes we have to say to people..
LEAVE ME ALONE 🗣️
I love you but leave me alone. I can’t hear God because my life too loud
I got vision but lack clarity because yall confusing
What if you can’t hear God because you’re addicted to Company?
What if God only been talking to you in your dreams because you don’t make time for when you wake up😬
He will give you signs in your dreams that you don’t have the time to interpret and process because you too busy
Before God blesses you publicly he will deal with you privately!
Sometimes we see this as isolation but what Jacob is showing us is spiritual discipline called Solitude.
Some of us are confused..
See Isolation is when you get alone with you and Solitude is when you get alone with God🩵🙏🏽
Solitude is not drawing away from people it’s drawing closer to God💜
Whatever you can’t step away from you are a slave to . If you can take a break from it.. it’s not love it’s Labor 🥺
I’m going to stop right here —->
Come back for pt.2 of the notes
This sermon from🩵❤️🧡 Pastor Darius McClure was so good!
In today's fast-paced world, the importance of rest is often overshadowed by a culture of constant activity. Yet, rest is an essential aspect of our well-being and spiritual health. It allows us to recharge and reconnect with our purpose. When we take time to rest, we not only rejuvenate our bodies but also open our hearts to receive guidance from God. This practice of resting is more than just a pause in our daily grind; it is an intentional act of faith. In Genesis 34:24-26, we find Jacob wrestling with God, a powerful metaphor for the internal struggles we all face. Jacob’s determination to hold on until he is blessed reminds us that persistence is key in our spiritual journeys. Sometimes, our breakthroughs are delayed because we are too busy to recognize the changes that are meant to shift us towards our destiny. Often, we cling to what is familiar—even if it no longer serves us. Like Jacob, we must grapple with our past selves and the relationships that may be holding us back. It’s crucial to discern between what is good and what is God’s best for us. This discernment comes when we embrace solitude, allowing God to work within us. Solitude is not isolation; it’s an opportunity to draw closer to God, sharpening our focus and clarity. Moreover, we need to address the distractions that cloud our judgment. With the noise of life, it’s easy to overlook the quiet whispers of divine inspiration. Taking regular breaks offers us clarity, helping us to hear God’s voice amidst the chaos. It encourages us to prioritize our spiritual health and emotional well-being, reinforcing the idea that rest is not a weakness but a source of strength. Engaging with our challenges, without giving up, is essential. Like Jacob, we should be willing to wrestle with our inner turmoil and external pressures until we achieve the transformation we seek. Every struggle has the potential to lead us to a significant blessing—if only we choose to persevere and seek God’s help. In essence, learning to rest, reflect, and wrestle toward victory will lead us closer to the fulfillment of our divine purpose.
