🎥 Day 3 of Keeping It Real

Today is Saturday… and today, I’m listening to my body.

I’m spending the day catching up on housework and also taking time to rest—because sometimes that’s exactly what we need.

This morning started simple… coffee ☕, dishes (yes, those too lol), and just moving a little slower than usual.

But one thing I noticed—I found myself praising the Lord the whole time. 🙏

And let me tell you… there’s just something about praising Him, even in the simple moments. It brings peace in a way nothing else can.

It’s also important to remember—it’s okay to rest.

Even God rested on the seventh day. Not because He was tired, but because He was setting an example for us to follow.

So today is a messy bun, no makeup kind of day—and that’s perfectly okay 💕

Today is a good day to slow down, take care of yourself, and give thanks for all God has done… and all He’s still doing.

Sometimes the most productive thing we can do… is rest.

💙 “Be still, and know that I am God.” – Psalm 46:10

... Read moreTaking intentional rest days is vital for both physical health and mental well-being, especially when managing chronic conditions like type 1 diabetes. From my own experience, allowing myself to slow down without pressure or guilt has been transformative. Rest isn’t a sign of weakness but a necessary practice to maintain balance and prevent burnout. Incorporating moments of gratitude and faith throughout a restful day adds an uplifting dimension that supports emotional resilience. I’ve found that praising something greater during quiet moments helps redirect anxious thoughts, creating peace and acceptance. Beyond just physical rest, giving permission to embrace simplicity—like a messy bun and no makeup—fosters self-love by rejecting societal pressures of constant productivity or perfection. It encourages listening deeply to what your body and mind need at the moment. Practical tips that have helped me include scheduling regular rest days as non-negotiable appointments and blending light activities such as gentle housework with mindful relaxation. Savoring a comforting morning coffee without rushing has become a cherished ritual. Remembering scripture such as “Be still, and know that I am God” serves as a gentle reminder to pause, reflect, and find trust amid life’s demands. Ultimately, rest is productive in nurturing the whole self, enabling us to return to daily challenges with renewed energy and clarity. Taking time to rest and reflect has improved my overall wellness and deepened my faith, making each day more meaningful.

I bought a mini fridge for my room to store my meal prep, fruits, veggies, and some pricier stuff like 0% cottage cheese. I like eating healthy and don’t want my family eating through the food I budget for myself. The other day my dad wanted cottage cheese, but my mom had used up the 2% one. She

keeping things private in a relationship 🤫💕
My boyfriend and I have something called our VAULT. It’s not an actual physical vault, but a mental vault! Basically, when we tell each other something is “vaulted” or “goes in the vault,” that means that it does NOT leave the relationship. For example, I have a LOT of vaulted embarrassing stories.
