In the online world where we live every day, there is a law called "Computer Offences Act 2017," which we should all know to prevent accidental wrongdoing. Today, let's summarize the important things to know!

Illegal behavior to watch out for!

Unauthorized access to the information of others.

Example: Secretly use your friend's User and Password to access social media accounts or hack your computer system to access your personal information.

Penalty: Up to 2 years imprisonment, up to 40,000 baht fine or both

Modifying, modifying, or destroying the information of others.

Examples: sneak in to edit the data in a friend's document, edit grades in a school system, or release viruses / malware into someone else's computer until the data is corrupted.

Penalty: Up to 5 years imprisonment, up to 100,000 baht fine or both

The introduction of false information into the computer system.

Example:

Fake News (Fake News): Share fake news that damages the public or causes social panic.

Image editing: editing images of others in an obscene manner, or discrediting others, gaining shame.

Example: Send a lot of advertising emails to non-consenting recipients to cause annoyance and no button to stop easily.

Penalty: fine not exceeding 200,000 baht
