The Ways Love Moves
Today, while grocery shopping, I was picking out different fries based on each of my brothers’ favorites when a woman stopped me and said, “I want to come home with you. Anyone who takes that much care to make sure everyone gets exactly what they want is the kind of person I want to live with.”
I laughed and told her I was shopping for grown men. She said, “Still, it’s wonderful.”
Later, I came home and baked a lineup of treats to cover everyone’s cravings for the week and realized something: I never thought this was unusual. I’ve just always let love guide how I move through the world.
I hope the people in my life feel loved when they’re around me. I hope they feel seen, heard, and remembered. I hope they know I pay attention.
At the end of the day, that’s the mark I want to leave behind—not that I bought the right fries or baked the right desserts, but that people felt cared for.
Because sometimes love looks less like grand gestures and more like remembering exactly what someone likes. ❤️
