Did you know you could do this on your phone? 🌸

✨ Hey besties! Back again with another iPhone hack you need to know.

Did you know you’re not stuck with Apple’s built-in apps? You can actually change your default apps to the ones you prefer. For example, if you’d rather use Gmail instead of Apple Mail or Chrome instead of Safari, you can make that happen in just a few steps.

Here’s how:

Go to Settings > Apps > Default Apps.

From there, you can customize your iPhone to better fit your needs. Some of the defaults you can change include:

📧 Mail apps (Gmail, Outlook, etc.)

💬 Messaging apps

📞 Calling apps

🚫 Call filtering apps (like spam blockers)

🌐 Browsers (Chrome, Firefox, etc.)

🌍 Translation apps

⌨️ Keyboards (third-party options like Gboard or whatever you prefer)

This way, your iPhone automatically uses the apps you love most—no extra steps needed. 🙌

... Read moreIf you’ve ever felt limited by the apps your iPhone comes pre-loaded with, changing default apps is a fantastic way to personalize your device and improve your daily experience. Beyond just email and browser apps, you can also customize calling and messaging apps, which many users don’t know. For example, if you prefer using a third-party keyboard like Gboard or a specialized call filtering app to block spam calls, setting these as your defaults can streamline your workflow and reduce interruptions. It’s especially useful if you spend a lot of time on your phone and want everything tailored to your preferences. One tip: after updating to iOS 18, you might notice new options like setting a default FaceTime audio app or changing Siri’s behavior, allowing for even greater customization. Keep in mind you have to download the apps you want to set as default first; once installed, just head to Settings > Apps > Default Apps to switch. This feature reflects Apple’s move toward giving users more control, so take advantage of it to enhance your iPhone experience. Sharing from personal use, this made my daily messaging and browsing smoother and saved me from jumping between apps. Give it a try—you might find it easier than you thought!
