This project is something I've poured a lot of thought into, and it's been a journey developing Stephen Cameroid's world. When I started brainstorming, I really wanted to dive deep into the idea of a character who literally doesn't know who they are, but whose past is constantly knocking on their door through terrifying nightmares. Imagine being Stephen. You wake up every day with a blank slate, but your subconscious is relentlessly throwing images of a strange, eerie forest at you. It's not just regular bad dreams; these are vivid, unsettling visions that feel like fragmented memories. And then, as if that wasn't enough, your adopted family moves you to a new city. But this isn't just any city; it's a place where the shadows hide more than just alley cats. I envision it as a vibrant, yet subtly sinister urban landscape, teeming with mysteries that slowly unravel to reveal a connection to Stephen's own lost history. The 'monsters' aren't necessarily your typical horror movie creatures, though some might be. I'm exploring entities that could be supernatural, otherworldly, or even metaphorical manifestations of the city's secrets and Stephen's fragmented psyche. The challenge for Stephen isn't just surviving these encounters, but understanding their origin and how they tie into the amnesia that plagues him. He's constantly questioning his reality, and as a writer, I'm finding it fascinating to put him in situations where he has to discern friend from foe, illusion from truth. One of the core themes I'm exploring is trust. In a city full of unknowns, Stephen has to decide who he can confide in. Are his new neighbors genuinely kind, or do they have ulterior motives? Do the authorities truly want to help, or are they part of the larger conspiracy? This struggle for trust is directly linked to his personal journey of self-discovery. How do you define yourself when your past is a void? How do you build an identity when you don't even know your own name or origins? That's the heart of 'Catalistic.' I'm still in the 'W.i.p' phase, as you saw in the animatic, but the potential for Stephen's growth and the uncovering of ancient secrets in this mysterious city keeps me going. The idea of a hidden forest from his nightmares slowly revealing itself to be a real place, perhaps even a gateway, is something I'm excited to develop further. This story isn't just about battling external threats; it's about Stephen battling his own fragmented memories and finding the courage to reclaim his identity, no matter how terrifying the truth might be. I'd love to hear what kind of mysteries you think Stephen might uncover, or what kind of monsters would make this story truly chilling!
