How to combat MOM BURNOUT

Compassion fatigue is a real thing. Sometimes the burnout really hits and that's when I know I'm not taking care of myself the way I should be! Here are my go-toe for combatting mom burnout.

1. Go outside! Fresh air and sun work wonders.

2. It's okay to leave your baby in a safe space like a crib or a playpen for a minute or two to collect yourself.

3. A sweet treat always makes my day better.

4. Doing some physical activity and getting the endorphins flowing is a must when I feel burnt out. It can really turn my day around.

To effectively combat these feelings, it's essential to prioritize self-care and practice mindful living. Taking short breaks to get fresh air can significantly affect your mood and energy levels. In addition, engaging in enjoyable physical activities, whether a quick walk in the park or a dance session at home, helps release endorphins and uplift your spirits. Setting boundaries is also critical for reducing burnout. Mothers often juggle multiple responsibilities, which can be overwhelming. Don't hesitate to ask for help or delegate tasks when needed. Socializing with fellow moms can provide valuable support and help you feel less isolated. Consider joining local parenting groups or online forums where sharing experiences and coping strategies can foster a sense of community. Lastly, indulging in small treats, whether a favorite dessert or a quiet moment with a book, can recharge your emotional batteries and provide a therapeutic escape from daily stress. Remember, nurturing yourself is not a luxury but a necessity for maintaining overall well-being.

When I start feeling completely overwhelmed, I tell my fiancé to take over and shower with the music blasting and I use a sunset lamp and turn off the bathroom light to create a nice vibe. Or I just lock myself in my room so I can eat dinner in peace 😂

Whew. I have to sleep when I get like this or definitely go outside. I’m feeling it today after a very busy week so giving myself grace is important. You’re doing great mama!
