Millennials Check In ✨
It’s officially time for a 90s Millennial Check In! If you were born in the 90s, specifically between 1990-1994, then this post is for you. We occupy a unique space within the millennial generation, often called Xennials or the Oregon Trail generation, but for us, being a true 90s baby means something distinct. We were born in the 90s and had the privilege of growing up in the 90s, experiencing the tail end of a pre-internet world mixed with the dawn of digital. Remember the satisfying sound of dial-up internet? Or trying to record your favorite song off the radio onto a cassette tape? Our childhoods were filled with VHS tapes, Nickelodeon cartoons, TGIF lineups, and the golden age of boy bands and grunge music. We saw the rise of iconic fashion trends, from chokers to baggy jeans, and lived through the excitement of getting our first flip phones. Then came the formative years of the 2000s and the vibrant era where we partied in the 2010s. This was our coming-of-age – navigating college, first jobs, and exploring our independence. We witnessed the explosion of social media, from MySpace to Facebook and Twitter, shaping how we connected with friends and the world. We learned to adapt quickly, bridging the gap between analog childhood memories and a fully digital adult life. Those years were about discovering who we were, making lifelong memories, and yes, definitely having some epic nights out! We’re the generation that remembers a time before widespread smartphones but quickly embraced the tech revolution. And now, here we are, turning 35 this year. It's a significant milestone that brings a mix of introspection and excitement. For many of us, it means hitting our stride in careers, perhaps starting families, or simply solidifying our place in the world. We're old enough to reminisce fondly about our youth but still young enough to be on the cutting edge of new trends. It's a funny feeling, being in that sweet spot where you understand both Gen X references and Gen Z slang, yet feel uniquely identified by your own 90s millennial badge. So, whether you’re reflecting on your journey from a 90s kid to a thriving 35-year-old, or just looking for others who remember the struggle of burning a perfect CD mix, let's connect. What are your most cherished memories from growing up in the 90s or partying in the 2010s? What does turning 35 mean to you?
