In recent years, Gallaudet University has become a focal point for advocating deaf education and promoting inclusion. The university's unique learning environment fosters connection among students while addressing the challenges faced by the deaf community in academic settings. More students are now embracing their identities and cultures, making self-care an important topic among peers. Self-care can include various practices such as mindfulness, time management, and seeking support from faculty and mentors. This is vital in maintaining mental health during the demands of college life. As I navigate through class NOSIS, I have found valuable resources offered by student services that promote well-being and academic success. Engaging in discussion groups, attending workshops, and practicing effective communication strategies become essential aspects of my daily routine. Here at Gallaudet, the supportive atmosphere encourages me to share experiences and grow with fellow students, building a more substantial sense of community.
