Toxic Trait: I don’t ask for help

2024/1/24 Edited to

... Read moreHyper-independence often stems from past trauma, leading individuals to feel that asking for help is a sign of weakness. This mindset can hinder personal growth and healing. It’s vital to recognize that asking for support is not synonymous with failure but rather a step towards recovery. In moments of vulnerability, seeking assistance can enable deeper self-awareness and foster healthier relationships. Learning to differentiate between times when we need help and when we can cope alone is key to emotional growth. Engaging with supportive communities can also fortify our healing journeys, allowing us to embrace new beginnings and foster self-love and care. By addressing our fears around vulnerability and understanding the roots of our hyper-independence, we can cultivate stronger support systems and navigate our healing journeys more effectively.

Yessss. Baby people practically have to BEG me to let them help me. If I need to get something done I’m getting it done. The minute I ask for help is because it’s not humanly possible for me to do whatever it is without help 🤣
