Grown women’s Vanity
Sometimes I sit here all day with my ear pods in and zone out. Sipping my always hot coffee. Doing my skincare. Sorting out my fav perfumes and of course mastering my makeup no makeup look. A place where I sit to fall back into my femininity. When I’m in my lil zone my household knows not to Pop that bubble I’m in. This is QT for me…especially when I’m having Bible study. Doing a crossword puzzle or coloring in my Adult coloring book. Etc. I had to set an area up for myself. I do my hair here and spend time doing my nails and reading books. It’s more to it then just “Vanity” this area for me is a place where I am reminded of who I am as a person. As a women. If you haven’t already…I hope this snippet inspires you to set up a space dedicated for you.
I sourced this desk from a thrift store for $30. When I did my research it was previously purchased from IKEA. This desk is all over Pinterest. Find you a corner and start with a desk. It doesn’t have to be expensive. Show me-tag me! I want to see sis… #vanityideas #womenover45 #coollikethat #sahmw #maketimeforyourself
Establishing a personal vanity space can be a transformative experience, especially for grown women who often juggle multiple roles and responsibilities. From my own experience, having a dedicated corner where I can indulge in self-care rituals—whether it’s organizing my favorite perfumes like J'adore, Dolce & Gabbana, or Valentino, or practicing my ‘no makeup’ makeup look—serves as a meaningful retreat from the daily rush. One practical tip is to start small and budget-conscious. I found my desk at a thrift store for just $30, and learning it was a popular IKEA model reassured me that functionality doesn't have to come with a hefty price tag. Pinterest is a fantastic resource for vanity desk inspiration, showing how versatile and creative these spaces can be. My vanity area is more than just a place for applying makeup; it’s where I reconnect with my identity as a woman. It’s a safe bubble for quiet moments—listening to calming music through my earbuds, sipping hot coffee, and even engaging in activities like adult coloring books or crossword puzzles. These simple practices have boosted my mental well-being and helped me embrace self-love and patience. Importantly, this space is a gentle reminder that a woman over 40 certainly doesn’t need anyone’s permission to carve out time and space for herself. It encourages reclaiming personal sovereignty and nurturing the soul. Creating this sanctuary has not only enhanced my beauty routine but also deepened my spiritual life with moments of Bible study. If you’re inspired to create your own vanity spot, consider repurposing an existing corner of your home or sourcing affordable furniture locally. Personalize your space with items that bring joy and comfort—like your signature perfumes or a favorite makeup bag. Sharing your vanity setup on social platforms with hashtags like #vanityideas or #maketimeforyourself can connect you with a community of women embracing this empowering journey. In short, a vanity space is more than a beauty station; it’s a personal haven that celebrates womanhood, nurtures your spirit, and invites moments of peace in a hectic world. Creating and maintaining this space is truly an act of self-respect and love that every woman deserves.
