Growing up, I often faced the pressure to conform to certain beauty standards, especially with the booming popularity of plastic surgery in Korea. Many around me, including family members, encouraged me to alter my appearance to fit those ideals. However, I chose a different path—one centered on self-acceptance and loving my natural features. This decision was not always easy in a culture that often equates beauty with perfection, but it allowed me to develop genuine confidence. Through modeling, I discovered that embracing individuality and imperfections can actually set you apart and open unique opportunities. Being shorter than typical models, I worried about fitting into the industry’s mold, but my distinct look and authenticity proved to be an asset rather than a limitation. Plastic surgery trends certainly come and go, but the timeless appeal of self-love and authenticity never fades. Loving yourself, flaws and all, creates a lasting sense of chicness that no surgery can replicate. It’s important to prioritize mental and emotional well-being over physical alterations and recognize the beauty that already exists within us. For those struggling with societal pressures, my advice is to seek out what truly makes you feel confident and comfortable. Celebrating natural beauty can be empowering and inspiring, not only to yourself but to others around you. At the end of the day, being true to who you are will always be the most stylish choice.
