I hate when I don’t go to my regular spot because
I have my regular spots because I KNOW my stuff will be right. I went to the Dunkin by my kids orthodontist because we were running late and they left the egg off my egg and cheese bagel but put bacon smh. I ate it anyway because I didn’t wanna do that full U turn at the median again 😒. My cofffee was bad too smh. Anyways, do yall have a favorite food spot that you can’t ever switch up on? #notfeelingit #foodieproblems #notsotasty
Oh my goodness, I totally get it! That feeling of dread when you venture out from your tried-and-true spot and things just go wrong? It's the absolute worst. My friend, you're not alone in that 'frustration spot' dilemma. I've had my fair share of messed-up orders and disappointing coffee, and it always makes me wonder why I ever strayed from my usual haunts. There's something magical about a regular spot, isn't there? They know your order, your coffee is always perfectly brewed, and there's a certain comfort in the consistency. It’s like they just get you. I swear, sometimes it feels like my regular barista can read my mind! That reliability is priceless, especially when you're on a tight schedule or just need a comforting start to your day. That's why when you end up with a bagel that's missing the egg you explicitly asked for, and somehow gains bacon instead, it's not just a wrong order – it's a full-blown betrayal! So, what do we do about these 'frustration spots'—those places that just consistently let us down, or that one-off experience that makes you swear off new places forever? Personally, I've learned a few hard lessons. First, if I'm trying a new place, especially when I'm in a hurry or have kids in the car (hello, inside a car bagel eating!), I try to keep my order super simple. The more complex the customization, the higher the chance of things going awry. Another tip I've picked up is to always, always double-check your order before you drive away or leave the counter. I know, I know, it feels awkward sometimes, especially when there's a line, but trust me, it saves so much headache later. That moment when you realize your melted cheese bagel is missing the key ingredient (the egg!) when you're already miles down the road is pure agony. And if it's wrong, don't be afraid to politely point it out. Most places are happy to fix it, although I completely empathize with your 'full U-turn at the median' aversion! Sometimes, you just have to eat it and learn for next time. What about you all? Do you have any strategies for avoiding 'frustration spots'? Or perhaps a memorable story about an order so wrong it made you vow never to return? I'm curious if anyone else has a specific item they never order outside their regular spot because it's just too risky. For me, it's definitely my morning coffee – I need it just right to survive the day. Let's share our tips and commiserate over those moments of frustration about orders being messed up when not visiting a regular spot! Ultimately, I think it comes down to valuing that consistent, perfect experience. Life's too short for bad coffee and messed-up bagels. So, here's to our regular spots – may they always get our orders right and save us from unnecessary food frustration!
