Let them alongside you…
@Kylie Perkins is doing such beautiful, faithful work reminding women that keeping matters — that stewarding your home and your things is kingdom work. I love her voice and I’m so thankful for her reminders. I believe she is doing these things as a mom and a believer, it’s just not her focused content and THAT’S OKAY!
Take her wisdom! Be inspired. But don’t slip into comparison when your keeping as a homeschool mom looks slower, messier, or interrupted by little hands who want to “help.”
Stewarding well doesn’t just mean doing the work — it means discipling in the middle of it. It means letting our kids learn by doing right alongside us.
Home isn’t just what we build for them — it’s what we build with them.
Slow is still faithful. Messy still matters. Little hands are kingdom hands too.

Stewardship in the home goes beyond the mere act of cleaning and organizing; it is about building relationships and creating a nurturing environment. The way we involve our children in everyday tasks teaches them valuable lessons about responsibility and care. From inviting them to help in meal preparation to including them in home projects, these moments serve as both practical learning experiences and bonding time. As a parent, it is crucial to understand that perfection is not the goal. It is the process of learning together that fosters growth. Little hands may create messes, but they also bring joy and insights in how work is approached. Encouraging children to engage in stewardship alongside us allows them to cultivate a sense of ownership and pride in their surroundings. The ability to teach our kids about caring for our home also extends to a broader understanding of caring for God's creation. By modeling stewardship, we instill values that last beyond childhood. It is about nurturing both our environment and our family, creating memories in the process. In this journey, comparison should be avoided; instead, celebrate each unique path. Every family's rhythm is different, and what matters most is the love and attention we pour into our daily lives. Remember, little hands mimic what they see, and through our interactions, we can guide them towards faithful stewardship that lasts a lifetime.
