I started my own business about a year ago. Aside from cooking delicious looking food all the time, I am actually a baker. I’ve loved to bake ever since I was little. Every Friday after school when I was a little girl I would go to my grandmas house and we would cook and bake all day long. That’s originally where I got my baking skills. Over the years I have learned a lot from watching videos and experimenting on my own. That said, I started my own small business. My business consists of sweets and bakery items like chocolate covered strawberries, cakes, cupcakes, pies, cookies, you name it. Around Valentine’s Day, my chocolate covered strawberries are most popular. This past year I made 150 of them. It is hard work but it pays off and it is so self giving. So if any of you are looking to open your own small business, I say go for it! If you guys want to check out my business page it is on Facebook. The page is called Frick’N Good Food so go check it out!
Hey everyone! So many of you loved hearing about my journey with chocolate-covered strawberries, especially how popular they get around special occasions. It’s truly rewarding to create something beautiful and delicious! But I know lots of you are probably wondering how to achieve those stunning, professional-looking berries right in your own kitchen, especially when it comes to unique colors and presentation. Let me share some of my favorite tips and tricks! First off, let’s talk about those vibrant colors – like purple and pink chocolate covered strawberries. Achieving these hues is super fun and easier than you might think. For purple chocolate covered strawberries, you’ll want to start with good quality white chocolate. Melt it gently – a double boiler or microwave in short bursts works best. Once melted and smooth, add oil-based food coloring. Water-based colors can seize your chocolate, so always go for oil-based! Mix until you get that gorgeous amethyst shade. The same goes for pink and purple chocolate covered strawberries: use oil-based food coloring for pink, too. You can even do a beautiful swirl effect by dipping in one color, letting it set, and then drizzling with another contrasting color, like a white and red drizzle on a dark chocolate base, just like some of my creations you might have seen! Now, for princess chocolate covered strawberries, it's all about the details! After dipping in your chosen colors (think soft pinks, light blues, or shimmering white), let them set. Then, get creative with edible glitter, small edible pearls, or even little edible tiara decorations you can find online. You can also drizzle with a contrasting color chocolate to make intricate patterns. I love using a contrasting color, sometimes even a dark chocolate drizzle over a lighter base, or vice-versa. Don't forget colorful sprinkles – they add an instant touch of magic and fun! Imagine a heart-shaped chocolate or even some edible gold dust to truly make them fit for royalty. Beyond the dipping, presentation is key, especially if you're gifting or selling. When it comes to homemade chocolate strawberries packaging, think layers and protection. I always start with individual foil tray liners or small cupcake liners for each strawberry. This keeps them from bumping into each other and preserves that perfect coating. For a beautiful gift, you can line a simple box with pink shredded paper – it instantly elevates the look and adds a touch of elegance, perfect for special occasions or even just a sweet surprise. If you're making a homemade chocolate strawberries box for a special event, consider clear window boxes. These let the beauty of your creations shine through! Arrange your berries carefully, ensuring they don't touch. For an extra special touch, you can add a small ribbon or a personalized tag. I've even used a heart-patterned tablecloth as a backdrop for photos to show off my beautiful arrangements! Finally, about infuse strawberries – this is a more advanced technique but can add an amazing flavor dimension! You can gently "infuse" your strawberries by soaking them briefly in a small amount of flavored liqueur (like Chambord for a raspberry hint) or even a rich vanilla extract before dipping. Just be sure to pat them very dry afterwards, as any moisture will prevent the chocolate from adhering properly. Start with a short soak, maybe 15-30 minutes, and experiment to find what you love! It's these little touches that can truly make your chocolate dipped strawberries unforgettable. I hope these tips inspire you to get creative in your kitchen! Making these beautiful treats is such a joy, and seeing the smiles they bring is the best reward. Happy dipping!
