Their required evidence is Spirit Box, Freezing Temperatures, and Ghost Orb. You need to keep an eye out for all three. The Spirit Box can be frustrating with Shades because they'll often only respond when you're alone in the room, which can be pretty nerve-wracking! I often try to get a single person to step into the ghost room alone for a moment or two to try and get a Spirit Box response. As for Freezing Temperatures, that's usually a pretty clear sign once you get your thermometer reading below 0°C. Ghost Orbs are often the easiest to spot, just set up a camera in the ghost room and wait patiently in the truck or a safe spot. Now, about testing for a Shade beyond just waiting for evidence. I've found that trying to provoke activity is key, but you have to adapt your strategy. Since they're less active when people are together, try having one person split off from the group and spend a bit of time alone in the ghost room. This often encourages a Shade to interact more, potentially giving you that crucial Spirit Box response or even a Ghost Orb. I've also heard about using the Summoning Circle to ID Shades, as seen in some of my old hunting notes (like "Use Summon Circle To ID Shade"), but be extremely careful with that – it's a guaranteed cursed hunt!
