We didn’t know the gender of our baby.

How many surprises do you get in a life time? I mean truly special moment surprises.

I don’t think we get many and that is why We decided to not know our babies gender until birth. We truly just wanted to be surprised.

Let me tell you I was not expecting on having a GIRL! 🩷

I truly thought I was just going to be a “boy mom” but I’m so happy to have my little girl. She was truly the greatest surprise I ever had and I will truly remember this moment.

My whole pregnancy was the same as my first, there were a few different things like I didn’t get the “Linea nigra” until my last few weeks, I did craved sweets, and I didn’t swell up like I did my first time.

Our little Girl got us! 😅

Pros about not knowing

-it was truly the greats surprise makes the moment special.

-there’s so many gender neutral stuff out there

-you save money because you’re not buying so many “cute” outfits

-Avoid gender-specific gifts More diapers and wipes

Cons

-not having one name needing to come up with two

-nursery is hard to plan but we stuck to a sage green

-doctors appointment were hard because there were time I just wanted to know

-you had to remind the nurses and doctors you didn’t want to know gender because you were too scared they would slip.

The excitement builds as the due date approaches, leading to joyous revelations. There are numerous benefits to waiting, including embracing gender-neutral clothing and decor, which also often leads to cost savings by avoiding the plethora of gender-specific items on the market. Besides the financial aspect, not knowing the gender fosters a sense of inclusion for all family members when preparing for the baby's arrival. It promotes creativity in name selection, as parents brainstorm without bias toward traditional gender roles. However, there are challenges, such as limited nursery planning and the nagging curiosity that sometimes arises during prenatal appointments. The moment of delivery is a culmination of all this anticipation, where the first sight of the baby holds profound emotional weight that many parents cherish. The trend of gender reveals has shifted for many to celebrated moments of surprise in the delivery room. Each story is unique, but the overwhelming consensus is that the joy of the unexpected makes the arrival even more special.

I am a postpartum/labor nurse and I remember a family that said and we're told the baby was a Girl. The had everything you could think of in pink. At the birth the baby arrives and first thing you see is him peeing up in the air. It was a boy. I was taking a picture for them and it was hilarious the look of shock on their faces.

I wanted our last baby to be a surprise but my husband couldn’t handle it, he NEEDED to know… so we found out but kept it from our families for 38 weeks 😂
